Here’s how you can take action today:
Register to Vote:
If you haven’t already done so, make sure you are registered to vote. Visit the Mecklenburg Board of Elections online at
https://vote.mecknc.gov/Information-for-Voters to check your registration status, find your voting place, and ensure your voice is heard in the November 7th election. Remember you can vote early at the Matthews Library!
Spread the Word:
Share David Gaertner’s message of, “citizens first” with your friends, family, and neighbors. Encourage them to vote for a candidate who will champion our community’s interests and ensure that our voices are not overshadowed by developers and investors. Then, make a plan to bring people to the voting booth. Encourage their participation by sharing a date and time to go together.
Volunteer:
Join the campaign to elect David Gaertner and actively contribute to the cause. Volunteer to help with canvassing, sharing social media posts, or organizing community events. Every single vote counts, and your participation is crucial in determining the outcome of this election. Show that the citizens of the Town of Matthews demand a government that puts their interests first.
Educate Yourself:
Take the time to learn about the candidates running for the Town of Matthews Board of Commissioners. Do they have a voting record? Find out if they have been voting your values and being responsive to the constituents’ voice. Understand their platforms, values, and visions for our community.
Ask Questions:
Who are my elected officials? Are you happy with the decisions being made in Matthews? Are you happy with the type of growth happening in Matthews? Do you feel you are represented by your elected town officials? What is important to you and your family? What kind of future do I want for myself and my family?
